Meeting
called to order at 7:37 PM
·
Reminder
about the core of 11, up to age group U14.
Be careful on team selection to make sure you have a core of 11.
·
Be
careful about signing up for tournaments with a new team until August 1st.
Can have up to 3 guest players, with a roster of 18.
This affects San Francisco Cup, Surf Cup and Cal Cup.
This is an established USYSA rule which district VI has not been
following. This will most likely be
discussed in the next playing league meeting.
·
There has
been a committee formed in District VI to take up sideline behavior policy.
One policy that seems to have been successful has been to put the parents
on the opposite sideline from the kids.
·
Referee
assigning policy the district is attempting to put together a district wide
policy on this process.
·
PR90s
and releasing players there seems to be a bigger draw for our kids to go to
other clubs. What is the stance of
our club on this issue? A lot of discussion on what other clubs have been doing.
It seems that different clubs are not releasing kids at all.
After a long discussion, it was decided that our club would continue to
support the releasing of players as we have done in the past.
·
Discussion
on releasing players brought up the question as to why are players want to leave
in the first place?
·
Paul
Freudenberg has generously offered to financially assist the club.
The question is to how to use this assistance to the best of the clubs
benefit.
·
Discussion
on the possibility of a new field.
·
Discussion
on bridging the gap between select and comp.
The coaches need to work together for this to be successful.
·
Discussion
on setting up a clinic before try outs to encourage participation in tryouts and
publicize the club.
·
Tournament
needs to also be better organized.
·
Talked
about team involvement from parents.
·
Discussed
setting up a mechanism on the web site to allow parents to e-mail comments/input
to the board.
·
Another
suggestion was made to create a flyer for the registration process which will
provide information about the web site.
